Abstract

This file contains the complete set of de-identified interview transcripts collected during the HydroRise Acadiana History Harvest events, held across three sites in Lafayette, New Iberia, and Abbeville, Louisiana, between April and November 2025. The document begins with a title page and front matter section describing the collection's scope, identifier key, de-identification statement, citation information, and structural notes for the file.

Following the front matter, transcripts are organized into four sections, each opening with a divider page summarizing that site's collection details (location, parish, collection date, interview identifier range, interview count, and contextual notes on the collection event):

  • Section I — Lafayette (Moncus Park, Lafayette Parish): Interviews L1–L29, collected April 5, 2025 (28 interviews)
  • Section II — New Iberia (Sliman Theatre, Iberia Parish): Interviews L30–L52, collected September 20, 2025 (22 interviews)
  • Section III — Abbeville (Giant Omelette Celebration, Vermilion Parish): Interviews L53–L119, collected November 1–2, 2025 (67 interviews)
  • Section IV — Additional Interviews (Zoom): Interviews L120–L121, conducted remotely following the in-person events with members of Dredge the Vermilion, a local community organization focused on stewardship of the Vermilion River (2 interviews)

In total, this file contains 119 de-identified interview transcripts. Each transcript is labeled with its unique "L" identifier, corresponding to the numbering system described in the front matter. Note that the identifier sequence contains two gaps — L17 and L52 — corresponding to interviews that did not record successfully; these are not included as transcripts in this file, though their identifiers remain reserved within the numbering scheme for consistency with related project documentation (e.g., interview metadata).
